Teams
Teams let a lab share jobs, datasets, projects, pipelines, templates, API keys, and credits while keeping personal accounts unchanged.
Personal vs Team Scope
SubSeq can be used in either personal scope or team scope.
- Personal scope: assets belong only to your individual account.
- Team scope: assets belong to the active team and are visible to team members.
Use the team control in the app header to enter a team, exit back to your personal account, or switch between teams. If no team is active, SubSeq behaves like a normal individual account.
Existing personal jobs, datasets, projects, pipelines, templates, API keys, and credits are not automatically moved into a team.
Roles
A team member can be either a member or a team admin. Team admins manage the team. Members do normal research work inside the team.
| Action | Member | Team admin |
|---|---|---|
| View team assets | Yes | Yes |
| Create jobs, datasets, projects, pipelines, and templates | Yes | Yes |
| Delete, rename, move, or cancel shared team work | Yes | Yes |
| Spend team credits by running jobs | Yes | Yes |
| Top up team credits | No | Yes |
| Create, list, or delete team API keys | No | Yes |
| Add, remove, promote, or demote team members | No | Yes |
A team must always have at least one team admin.
Team API Keys
Team API keys are scoped to one team. A team-scoped key can use that team's assets and credits, but it cannot be used for your personal account or for another team.
Only team admins can create, list, or delete team API keys. If you need a key for lab automation and you are not a team admin, ask a team admin to create one for the team.
The term "team admin" is separate from "admin API key." A team admin is a team role. An admin API key is an account-level authentication key used for account and key-management actions.
Credits
Personal credits and team credits are separate balances.
- Jobs run in personal scope spend personal credits.
- Jobs run in team scope spend team credits.
- Only team admins can top up team credits.
Credits are not currently moved between personal accounts and teams in the UI.
Common Questions
Why can't I delete a team API key?
Team API key management is currently limited to team admins. If you are a member, ask a team admin to delete the key.
Why can't my personal API key access team assets?
Personal API keys stay personal. To automate team work, use a team-scoped API key created by a team admin.
Can I move my personal jobs or datasets into a team?
Not currently. Personal and team assets are kept separate in this version.
Can I belong to multiple teams?
Yes. Enter the team you want to use before creating or viewing team work.
